In this article, we bring to your attention instructions for the manufacture of a device that can easily remove the chamfer resulting from the transverse sawing of a metal rod (stud).
For this project we will need:
- Metal reinforcement rod
- Welding machine
- Angle grinder
- Drill or screwdriver
- Hacksaw blade
We cut four sections of 4-5 cm length each from a metal rod.
Next, using welding, we fix three rods in the shape of a tripod, in which the distance between the supports is the same. At the point where all three trim meet, we fasten the fourth trim. We use welding to connect.
The next step in our project will be making vertical cuts in the metal rods forming a tripod, as shown in the photo below. The vertical cut must pass along the entire length of the part strictly in the middle.
These cuts are conveniently done with a hacksaw.
The next step is to make a metal ring of such a size that it lies on all ends of the rods at once with its circumference. We bend the ring out of metal fittings using a vise and lever force. To do this, clamp the end of the fittings together with the round pipe in a vice. Further, using the length of the reinforcement as a lever, bend around the rod near the pipe.

The resulting ring should be attached to the three rods of our tripod by welding.
The intermediate result of our work is presented below in the photo.
Further, from the metal sheet for the hacksaw, we cut off elements along the length equal to the length of the cuts in the rods.
The resulting elements should be inserted into the slots in the rods and fixed by welding. They need to be inserted in such a way that the cutting surface “looks” inside the tripod.
Our nozzle is ready. It remains only to experience it. We insert the “rod-leg” into the chuck of a screwdriver, place the untreated end of a metal rod or stud inside the nozzle and turn on the screwdriver.
In this way, it is possible to quickly and easily chamfer the newly sawn hairpin.
